The Module Profile DocType in TechMaju serves as a tool for grouping access permissions to various modules based on user job functions or departments. It allows administrators to create specific profiles that can grant or restrict access to certain modules within the system.

Purpose: To streamline the process of assigning module access to users, ensuring they can interact only with the parts of the system pertinent to their roles.

Function: Simplifies user permissions by managing module access in bulk rather than individually.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Using the Module Profiles DocType

Creating a New Module Profile


  1. Open the Module Profile Form: Click on the '+Add Module Profile' button from the Module Profile list to to create a new profile.

  2. Enter Module Profile Details:

    • Profile Name: Provide a name for the Module Profile that accurately describes the modules included or the job function it corresponds to.

  3. Select Modules to Include:

    • Use the checkboxes to select which modules the user profile should have access to.

    • Utilize the 'Select All' or 'Unselect All' options to quickly manage the modules included in the profile.

  4. Save the Module Profile:

    • After selecting the desired modules, save the Module Profile. This profile can now be associated with users, giving them access to all the modules included in the profile in one step.

Updating Module Profiles

  1. Review Module Profiles: Regularly check the Module Profiles to ensure they align with current business practices and system updates.

  2. Modify Profiles: If necessary, adjust which modules are included in a Module Profile to accommodate changes in system structure or user needs.

  3. Inform Users: Communicate any significant changes in module access to affected users, as this may alter their workflow within TechMaju.

Removing Module Profiles

  1. Evaluate Dependency: Before removing a Module Profile, ensure that no critical workflows depend on the modules it provides access to.

  2. Remove Profile Assignment: Disassociate the Module Profile from any user accounts.

  3. Delete the Profile: From the list of Module Profiles, select the obsolete profile and delete it to remove it from the system.
